Magical Christmas

There is a little girl called Lottie and she lives in a beautiful house with her
mummy and her daddy. She has wonderful toys to play with and she has lovely kind
friends. She is snuggled up in her cosy warm bed on a very cold winter's night.
' How many days 'till Christmas now, Mummy?' she asks.
Her mummy smiles and says, 'No more days 'til Christmas now Lottie. When you
wake up in the morning, Father Christmas will have left all the gifts around the
tree' 'Does everybody have a tree Mummy?', Lottie asks. Her mummy looks at her
thoughtfully for a moment, 'No, not everyone has a tree, but even people without
a tree can have the magic.' Lottie smiles, 'I've got magic. I've got you and
Daddy, and my lovely home, and my friends and toys to play with too. I wish
everyone could be as happy as me.' Plumping her pillow Mummy says, 'Yes you have
got magic and we have magic too because we have you Lottie.'
Hush now sleep…
Hush now sleep it's Christmas time
Hush now sleep it's Christmas time
Close your eyes and your book of rhymes
And let Father Christmas come
And let Father Christmas come
Down through the chimney and by the tree
Down through the chimney and by the tree
This lullaby'll bring sights you'll see
And let Father Christmas come
And let Father Christmas come

While you're asleep such things will change
Dreams they will come and rearrange
Magic will happen there'll be some new games
So let Father Christmas come
So let Father Christmas come

Now your asleep I'll place this kiss
Could it be real a feeling as this
All through my heart a feeling of bliss
We'll let Father Christmas come
We'll let Father Christmas come
Lottie sleeps and Mummy slips her book from under her hand and puts it away,
turns and tiptoes to the door. She does not see Lottie climb out of bed and
follow behind her - doing the same tiptoe walk.
Daddy has been looking on from the doorway he looks beyond Mummy she follows his
gaze and they all burst out laughing when Lottie's joke is revealed.
Still laughing, Lottie climbs back into bed.
Daddy Cuddles Lottie, kisses her and says, 'Sweet dreams Lottie.'
'Night 'night Daddy, 'night 'night Mummy' she says.
Mummy cuddles her and tells her, 'Night night'
Mummy and Daddy leave the room arms about waists softly singing
'Let Father Christmas come
Let Father Christmas come'
Lottie nestles into her pillow and sleeps. Her room is dark.. Mummy and daddy
have closed the door behind them.
Silently sleeping she wakes with a start as though some noise has woken her but
not a sound has broken the silence. She is about to snug up in her pillow again
when she turns over and looks to her left. There, right there in her bedroom are
lots of children. They are giving her friendly smiles and she is not a bit
afraid. Some are sitting on the floor and one is on her chair and one is on her
dresser and the rest are standing. She jumps quietly out of bed, not wanting to
wake Mummy and Daddy and she makes her way to the one on the dresser smiling at
each as she goes and without saying a word. When she gets to the girl on the
dresser she turns and says to them all in a friendly voice and still not the
least afraid,
'Hello - who are you?'
My name is Jane, says the girl on the chair. Lottie replies, 'Hello Jane' and
looks to each for their name. They say in turn, 'I'm Sarah', 'I'm Louise', 'I'm
Jack', 'I'm Peter', 'I'm Cindy', 'I'm Megan', 'I'm Sophie', 'I'm Shauna'. Then
the children on the floor take their turns, 'I'm Rachel', 'I'm Simon', 'I'm
Ben', 'I'm Annabella', 'I'm Joley', 'I'm Beth' and lastly the smallest girl on
the dresser says that her name is Lara. Lottie acknowledged each with a smile as
they spoke. With all their names given she gave them a warm and welcoming,if not
a little wide eyed, 'Well, hello!' 'We heard your wish' said Megan. Cindy
follows with a voice that matches her words, 'We're excited about Christmas
too!'
'You have such a lovely mummy and daddy' says Annabella. Matter-of-factly Lottie
replies, 'I really do. They are kind and they let me help them. They tell me
stories and make me laugh.'
Shauna asks, 'Do you know what Father Christmas will be bringing you?' Lottie
thinks for a moment then says, 'Hmmm…I would like a nice game.'
All the children agree together saying things like, 'Me too! Oh yes! I do too!
That would be lovely!'
Then Lottie asked them what they would like and what would make them happy. An
answer came from each child. Jack started,

'I would like to play football with my dad cheering me on.'
'I'd like to be tucked in bed by a mother who sings me songs.'
'I'd like to have a party and invite all my friends.'
'I'd like to have a garden with flowers and vegetables to tend'
'If I could have a pet, I would have a dog and I'd call him CORK.'
'I'd like to get wrapped up in winter clothes and take a long and happy walk'
'I would go on a boat and sail the ocean blue'
'I would make the longest daisy chain. And give it then to you.'
'I would make a special wish for rainy nights and sunny days'
'I would wish along a baby. And we would talk and share and play.'
Breathy and softly Lara, looking out of the window says, 'Oh look! It's
snowing!' Cindy can't wait to get outside, 'Let's go out and see'.
Through no doors or windows did any of the children pass. Magically they stood
on the snowy ground, holding hands in the air, catching snowflakes on tongues &
noses, looking at trees, bushes and far off things covered in snow they are all
really excited.
Twinkle Twinkle
Twinkle twinkle snowflakes sprinkle
All around is white
Twinkle twinkle snowflakes sprinkle
Stars are shining bright
And I can't sleep from excitement

Twinkle twinkle snowflakes sprinkle
All around is white
Twinkle twinkle snowflakes sprinkle
Stars are shining bright
My eyes are wide with enchantment

Twinkle twinkle snowflakes sprinkle
All around is white
Twinkle twinkle snowflakes sprinkle
Stars are shining bright
I have hope, I'm delighted

Twinkle twinkle snowflakes sprinkle
All around is white
Twinkle twinkle snowflakes sprinkle
Eyes are feeling tired
I'm so tired and I'll sleep now
Again as if by magic Lottie and all the children are back in her bedroom. As she
turns to climb back into her bed Beth pleads, 'Don't sleep now'.
The children are all having such a lovely time. None of them want her to go
back to bed.
The Christmas Bug
I've got the Christmas bug
It's got me in a festive hug
I've got the Christmas bug
It's got me in a festive hug
Ding a 'ling bells, Ding a'ling bells, Ding a'ling bells.

All the carollers are singing
The mums and dads are bringing
Christmas cheer, friends right here
The tinsel on the tree is clinging

I've got the Christmas bug
It's got me in a festive hug
I've got the Christmas bug
It's got me in a festive hug
Ding a 'ling bells, Ding a'ling bells, Ding a'ling bells.

The reindeer's primed and pacing
The children's hearts are racing
Will it be a ball, will it be a hoop
We've got love in our family group

I've got the Christmas bug
It's got me in a festive hug
I've got the Christmas bug
It's got me in a festive hug
Ding a 'ling bells, Ding a'ling bells, Ding a'ling bells.

Santa's sleigh takes flight now
The trees are decked with white boughs
Softly fly all through the sky
We all can't wait till he comes by

I've got the Christmas bug
It's got me in a festive hug
I've got the Christmas bug
It's got me in a festive hug
Ding a 'ling bells, Ding a'ling bells, Ding a'ling bells.

I've got the Christmas bug
It's got me in a festive hug
I've got the Christmas bug
It's got me in a festive hug
Ding a 'ling bells, Ding a'ling bells, Ding a'ling bells.
Ding a 'ling bells, Ding a'ling bells, Ding a'ling bells.
Spinning around as the song ends Lottie says, 'This has been so much fun!' Jane
agrees and adds, 'Not long now till Father Christmas comes.' We'd better let you
get to bed, says a sleepy Cindy.
As the children hug each other Lottie is the first to call out, 'Good night!'
All the children follow her lead, wish each other a good night and Lottie turns,
climbs into bed and wishes them all a whispered good night, for as she looks up
from her pillow, she sees that the children have magically disappeared and she
is alone again.
Lottie closes her eyes and goes to sleep again..
Tiptoeing to the end of her bed and filling her stocking hanging on her fire
place Father Christmas is gone as quickly and silently as he had arrived.
Mummy and Daddy come into her room. Surprised that she needs to wake her Mummy
says, 'Lottie, Lottie It's Christmas'
'Happy Christmas Lottie' Daddy said.
'Happy Christmas Mummy, Happy Christmas Daddy. Did you see them? Did you see all
the children? Weren't they great?'
Not knowing about the children Mummy and Daddy just look at each other. Kindly
Mummy says, 'No - were they friends of yours?'
With great excitement Lottie tells them of her friends, 'Oh yes…there's Beth and
Cindy and Sarah…Sarah wants a mum that sings to her. Annabella wants a pet…Lara,
she likes winter walks…Oh and Shauna…she wants a brother or sister…'
Daddy is the first to speak, 'Lottie we have some news for you.'
Mummy tells her, 'Aunty Gemma, who grows things in her garden is coming today
and bringing us a new doggy, one that she has rescued................'
Daddy continues, 'After lunch we're going on a long winter walk............'
And Mummy carries on, 'But best of all…' 'Lottie gasps and says …Ahhh. You're
going to have a baby!!'
They all cuddle together and sing the last song. The children reappear, seen
only by Lottie. The children, holding hands or putting an arm around each other
join in to sing.
We've Had Fun It's Been a Joy
We've had fun it's been a joy
Tasty food and lovely toys
But most of all we've had each other
The best time had for friends and lovers
Sisters, grans, aunts and mothers
Fathers, pops, uncles and brothers
Who do you love at this time
Are your friends with you
You can share mine

We've had fun it's been a joy
Tasty food and lovely toys
We gave gifts and made some wishes
With mistletoe we stole some kisses
Mulled wine drunk, logs on fires
Fresh walks made through heaths past briars
Will you make New Year's resolve
In with the new, out with the old?

Will you make New Year's resolve
In with the new, out with the old?

Everyone is very happy.

They sing another song together
